“Raising blondes in a brunette world” as a title is not meant to imply ANYTHING about the intellectual acuity of my children (biological or otherwise)! Instead I wanted to give you a “feel” for the challenges we face while living outside our homeland and native culture.
We absolutely love our adopted home of Honduras. However we have been in many situations where we didn’t understand what was going on or why a person was behaving a certain way. And I’m sure there have been many moments when our friends and church members here have been very confused by our actions as well. It’s all a part of adapting to a new country, culture, and language.
This is a personal blog from the perspective of a missionary wife. I’m the help-meet of an amazing husband and caretaker of seven children. We live on a “farm” consisting of 2 dogs, a cat, 2 ducks, about 40 chickens, and quite a few tilapia housed in our aquaponics endeavor. Life around here is full of noise and books and children and young people and music. But most of all we love Jesus and want to serve Him by serving people.
